We here it all the time in the media - we’re destroying the planet, the Human species total dominance has permanently damaged the flora and forna, leading to in extreme cases extinction of species. Even in recent times we have impacted heavily on our variety of life - with huge demands put on the environment for building, infrastructure, agriculture not to mention all the natural resources we have taken to do all this.
Here’s some facts about some of the effects we have had on biodiversity in England alone.
Farmland bird populations fell by nearly 50% between 1977 and 1993.
Between 1978 and 1998 the diversity of plants in infertile grasslands in England and Wales declined by 20%.
Breeding populations in England of the marsh fritillary butterfly have reduced by 66% in
the 10 years to 2000 as a result of over-grazing or inappropriate management.

The people at All Season Plants have been involved in wild flower production and habitat restoration projects now for 7 years. Over that time we’ve been involved in raising literally millions of plants which have been planted on river banks, in reed beds, in meadows, in new developments and in parks and gardens.
So what about you?
Just a small area in your garden to grow a few wild flower plants is a positive step towards preserving some biodiversity in your area.
Example
Buy a pack of 10 Foxgloves and put them towards the back of your border perhaps close to a fence preferably not in full sun. Let them grow - flower - attract the bees and bumblebees - they pollinate them - the flowers run to seed and you get more plants growing from them next year.
